More cardiovascular risk factors lead to shorter life, study finds
For individuals who have high cholesterol, seeking a prescription to buy Lipitor and improving their lifestyle in other important ways could significantly reduce their risk of dying from cardiovascular causes, according to a new study.
For individuals who have high cholesterol, seeking a prescription to buy Lipitor and improving their lifestyle in other important ways could significantly reduce their risk of dying from cardiovascular causes, according to a new study. The American Heart Association recently published a list of seven cardiovascular risk factors, including obesity, sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy eating, tobacco use, untreated high cholesterol, elevated blood pressure and insulin resistance. A team of researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention examined data from nearly 45,000 adults to measure the degree to which these factors affect death risk. They found that the indicators are strong predictors for future health problems. Individuals with six of the risk factors were 51 percent more likely to die during the study period from any cause and 76 percent more likely to die from cardiovascular disease, compared to people with just one risk factor. The findings suggest that treating high cholesterol and other potentially dangerous lifestyle factors could play an important role in overall well-being. A prescription to buy Lipitor has been proven to be an effective way to lower cholesterol. |
