New prostate surgery proven effective in treating BPH

Currently, the best medication to treat an enlarged prostate, a condition known as BPH, is a prescription to buy Flomax. But for men who have more severe cases, more intrusive steps may be necessary.

One option is surgery. There are several different procedures that can reduce the size of the prostate and alleviate many of the symptoms of the condition. One such method is known as holmium laser enucleation of the prostate.

A team of researchers from McGill University recently showed that this procedure has a reoperation rate of just 0.7 percent, which is significantly lower than other surgical methods commonly used to treat BPH, according to Renal and Urology News.

Furthermore, the majority of patients treated with the method saw their symptoms dissipate, suggesting that it may be a useful approach for men with BPH whose condition has not responded to a prescription to buy Flomax.

The findings could come as a relief to many men, as the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases states that 36 percent of individuals between the ages of 60 and 69 develop the condition.
