A common treatment for sleep apnea may help individuals with depression minimize their symptoms, according to a new study presented at the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies.

The Cleveland Clinic researcher who conducted the study said that many people who suffer from sleep apnea also have depression. Experiencing the two conditions at the same time can diminish the success of treatments.

For the study, the researchers examined the effect of positive airway pressure devices, which are commonly used to keep air flowing into the lungs of sleep apnea patients overnight. The results showed that participants who exhibited depressive symptoms at the outset of the study made significant improvements after treatment.

Furthermore, those who used the airway pressure device for more than four hours each night experienced the greatest improvements.

The results suggest that this treatment may be a useful complementary therapy when administered in conjunction with a prescription to buy Paxil. This could be particularly beneficial for those who currently suffer from both sleep apnea and depression.
