Esomeprazole should only be taken at the dose prescribed by the doctor. It is usually only prescribed for a limited time of between 4-8 weeks. If another course of treatment is needed then the doctor will advise this. Each dose should be taken at least one hour before a meal with a large glass of water, at least 8 ounces.
If taking the delayed release capsule then it is possible to open up the pill and sprinkle the medicine onto a soft food such as pudding or applesauce. This is ideal for those who have difficulty swallowing. The mixture must be consumed immediately, and not chewed. It cannot be mixed up and saved for later.
Even if symptoms improve beforehand, it is important to continue taking the medication for as long as the doctor has prescribed it, as sometimes symptoms can appear to disappear while the problem is still there.
If a dose is missed it can be taken as soon as remembered, if this is close to the time of the next dose then the missed dose should be skipped. The next dose should be taken as normal. It is important not to take a double dose of the medication.
Those looking to buy Esomeprazole should first consider the side effects. At the first sign of allergic reaction it is important to consult a doctor immediately. These symptoms can include a rash or hives, swollen tongue or throat, difficulty breathing or swelling of the face.
Other side effects can include; confusion, dizziness, palpitations or uneven heart rate, a jittery feeling or jerky movements in the muscles, watery or bloody diarrhea, a limp feeling, muscle weakness or cramps, seizures and coughing or choking. If at any point while taking the medication the patient experiences any of these symptoms, the medication must be stopped immediately and medical advice sought.
Those who order Esomeprazole should also take care not to take too much of the medication to avoid overdosing. In the event of taking too much medical assistance will be needed.
