How Lovenox works
Lovenox works by disrupting the body’s natural ability to form blood clots. While this function normally serves a useful purpose, it can pose a danger to patients if these blood clots break free and travel through the body to the lungs, or lodge themselves in deep veins inside the legs. Left untreated, this can lead to a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism. Patients who purchase Lovenox inject the medication as prescribed in order to prevent these clots from forming.
Lovenox ingredients
Patients who order Lovenox and inject it as directed, are only exposing themselves to two major ingredients: enoxaparin sodium and water. In the medication, the enoxaparin sodium is distributed in water to allow for easier absorption by the bloodstream. Some of the inactive ingredients in the drug include heparin and benzyl alcohol.
Side effects of Lovenox
The side effects that accompany the use of Lovenox vary according to the patient. Some consumers have reported very mild effects such as irritation at the injection site, nausea, and low iron levels. On the other hand, some patients have reported serious adverse reactions after taking Lovenox. Some of the serious side effects that have been reported include unexplained or continuous bleeding, dark and seedy bowel movements, feelings of dizziness, and tingling of the extremities.
A small number of patients who buy Lovenox will show symptoms of an allergic reaction to the medication’s ingredients. These symptoms include a widespread itchy rash, swelling of the tongue or throat, and burning pain in and around the eyes
Lovenox is also contraindicated for use with certain medications, or certain conditions. Patients who take Lovenox along with treatment that makes use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for example, may experience increased levels of blood loss, which could make it difficult to recover from major surgery without complications. In particular, patients who take blood-thinning medications may experience serious blood clots near the brain or spine if they take Lovenox during an epidural procedure along with a blood-thinning drug.
